Your city is stronger and more connected because refugees are here, becoming colleagues, neighbours, and friends. Ask your mayor to officially stand with refugees and cities across the world by signing the UNHCR Statement of Solidarity with Refugees. Tell your city you stand #WithRefugees.

When you sign your name, you join with the UN Refugee Agency and with 130 cities who have already made a global declaration of support for refugees. Their city leaders know when refugees make our cities home, they become part of the fabric of neighbourhoods, contributing to the health of the local economy and making our communities more diverse. The Arafat family is learning about local traditions in Whitehorse, grateful for the chance to dream up a new future.  In Victoria community support means Syrian violinist Sari Alesh is sharing his skills and love of music as a private instructor for a new generation of musicians.  In Montreal, the Eleyjian siblings are working and rebuilding their lives in a community that has embraced them.  The stories are the same across the country: refugees welcomed, supported, and contributing to the vibrancy and success of the cities which they now call home.
